Guide: Internet Marketing For Newbies

Internet marketing for newbies is a little bit mysterious and difficult. This is because while in theory the concepts behind Internet marketing might be quite simple, executing effective strategies can be extremely difficult. This can even be tough for those who are quite experienced in the world of Internet marketing.

One of the most basic steps for starting an Internet marketing campaign is to create a website. If you don’t have a website or have a poorly designed website you should consider creating or re-designing a website to successfuly market your products. If you do not have experience in web design, there are a number of software packages which make it simple for those with no design experience to create a functional website. However, hiring a web designer is worthwhile because he can work to create a website which is attractive, functional and suitable to your products and series. He can also help you include more advanced features on your website.

Banner ads are another popular option for advertising your business on the Internet. Banner ads are advertisements which typically appear along the top of a website but it may also include smaller ads in other locations. Banner ads typically include graphics and text which entice Internet users to click on the advertisement. Once a user clicks on the ad, they are directed to your website. This type of advertising can be very effective when care is taken to place the advertisements on high traffic websites which attract an audience who may have an interest in your products.

Sending out e-newsletters can also be a part of an effective Internet marketing strategy. E-newsletters are essentially emails which may contain a variety of information including informative articles, useful quizzes, relevant advertising or any other information which is deemed worthwhile for the recipients of the e-newsletter. The importance of these newsletters is that they can be used as marketing tools which are not viewed by the recipients as an advertisement. One way to do this is to incorporate links or other soft sale approaches into the copy of the e-newsletters. However, care should be taken to keep these references minimal so the e-newsletter is not viewed as spam.

Email marketing campaigns can be another successful aspect of an Internet marketing campaign. Email marketing essentially involves sending out emails to a group of individuals who may be interested in your products and services. Care should be taken in sending out these emails to avoid sending emails which are unsolicited and will be viewed as spam. One way to do this is to only send out the emails to users who have requested inclusion on an email mailing list. Another way to do this is to provide value in the emails as opposed to just including advertisements. This can be done by offering relevant advice in your emails and other useful information which may be of interest to the recipients of the email.

Finally, optimizing your website for search engines is a critical aspect of an Internet marketing campaign. Search engines rank websites according to quality and relevance for particular search terms. Many Internet users appreciate the effort by search engines and use these search engines to find the best websites on a particular subject. This means the Internet users are likely to only visit websites which rank well with search engines. Therefore if your website is not high ranking, you are not likely to generate a great deal of traffic from Internet users who use search engines to find relevant websites. Top ranking websites are likely to obtain the most traffic from search engines and all websites falling on the first page of the search engine results will likely enjoy some degree of success in improving their traffic.

An effective, Internet marketing strategy is to hire a consulting firm with search engine optimization (SEO) experience to assist you in achieving high search engine rankings. While the concept of SEO can be rather complex and understanding the most effective strategies and how to properly implement them may take years of experience as well as continual education, the ability to hire a qualified SEO firm is as simple as knowing how to interview candidates and select the most qualified one. This is because Internet users trust search engines to serve the most relevant websites first and typically only visit the best ranking websites when they search for a particular term.

Guide To Affiliate Marketing For Newbies

Guide To Affiliate Marketing For Newbies

You are going to discover the whole process of affiliate marketing in this guide.

Then you decide for yourself whether this is something worth your time and effort.

Generally affiliate marketing is about promoting other people’s products for a share of their commissions.

You can promote information products as in e-books, software and video courses from Clickbank, JVZoo, etc.

You can also market physical products as in things people buy at shopping malls from Amazon, Ali Express and Shopify.
To get started, you need to do these 4 steps.
1. An Autoresponder – for you to send content and promo emails to your subsccribers – those who optin to your email list.

2. A Domain And Web Hosting – for you to create and store your websites through proper channels and for people to see

3. A Landing Or Squeeze Page – for people to give you their names and email addresses in exchange for a free PDF report or video of what you want to share and recommend

4. And finally A Blog – for people to know you better, like and trust you as someone they can get advice and help.

Once you got all these things set up, the next thing you should do is to drive traffic as in people to see and ultimately buy from your site. In this case your landing page.

Just like prospecting is the lifeblood of all traditional businesses, the same goes for traffic generation in online business world.

There are several ways to drive traffic but I boiled down to just 2 categories as in free and paid traffic.

1. Free Traffic

Though free traffic does not cost you a penny, it costs you time and effort in doing so.

You can write articles just like what you are reading right now, blog, guest blogging and comment on other people’s blogs in your niche, interact with people in forums related to your niche, post classified ads like how I started out to make my first dollar online.

You can also do video marketing on Youtube if you prefer to talk than write and feel naturally comfortable in front of camera.

2. Paid Traffic

In the past, Google Adwords used to be where most marketers hanged out to place their ads.

Now Facebook and Twitter Ads are the new platforms.

Though the results are faster to achieve as compared to free ones, you need to make sure you advertise within your budget and what you earned is about the same or more than what you spend for every person who clicks your ad whether he buys or not.

If you are new and have limited budget, I recommend you start with free traffic first.

Then once you make your first $100, you reinvest half of it into paid traffic to test if it works just as well.

You keep focusing on that for the next 2-3 months and I guarantee you will definitely earn money like many affiliate marketers do every day. Keep in mind affiliate marketing is a business not a hobby.

Is Building A List Really Necessary For Newbies?

Is Building A List Really Necessary For Newbies?

Many people new to internet marketing, underestimate the power of a responsive list and so they do everything else under the sun besides building a list.

They get involved on various social media websites like Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and Ning social networks. They advertise their products, blog, present various ideas and tidbits about themselves but at the end of the day, that contact is gone and they may never reach those people again.

On Facebook, a person could simply unsubscribe to your feed so they never have to see your status updates again and you’d never know or they might have tons of friends and your wind up lost in the sauce of their feed. It happens and then your left wondering why you aren’t getting the responses that you desire.

On Pinterest, one who may be so into your pins one day, might not be the next or they might not even be following you. They might have saw your pin through someone they followed and even clicked through to your site, but when they got there, there wasn’t anything to attract their attention enough to keep them coming back on their own.

We follow many people on Twitter and it’s all to easy to miss someones post, simply because you weren’t on around the same time and you’re seeing countless other posts in your feed.

But what if there were a way to actually capture those people who breeze by your page so you can pull them back there again. This is what a list does for you. It gives you a way to stay in contact with people, no matter what time of day or no matter which website they’re on at the moment because you contact them directly in their email inbox.

You can use your list to provide value, show you care, answer questions, promote your products, announce your newest blog posts and more.

There are various list building companies like Aweber and some offer free list building, like MailChimp so if you don’t have a list, I suggest that you start building one.

Place the optin box in a prominent area of your website so it can easily be seen. I suggest the upper right corner, before the fold.

Use PLR content as a cool giveaway, like a report or a series of articles to entice people to sign up. Treat your list like gold and people will stick around. Remember that behind every email address lies a real, living, breathing person.

The truth is, the money will only come in when the consumers and subscribers believe and trust in you. They want a product or service that could be a good exchange for their money. People are not going to buy something out of your recommendation if they don’t know you.

Find a product or service that people want and need. Although it may not be your forte, if you provide a service and product that you have researched and learned about well, you can carry it on forward. Invest your time, effort and money that you could sell as well as the buyers or subscribers of your opt-in list can use.

While it is true that it is best to sell something that you have interest in, there are not many people who have the same interest as you if you decide to sell something that is not entirely popular or profitable. Do your research well and you would see the profits come in. Also provide your subscribers with promotional material that they could actually use and spread around.

Building a profitable list don’t just happen overnight. There are many preparations and effort to do. Opt-in lists are built from scratch, as your list grows, you should also maintain the quality of your list. Keep it organized and manageable. Get or hire help if need be, just make sure that your subscribers are happy and satisfied and they will be willing to buy from you.
