A few tips about how to get people to visit your blog.<\/p>\n

Check Your Keywords \u2013 Keywords work. Keywords are what REAL people type into REAL computers to find your website. Use \u2019em ok?
\nPlease don\u2019t think I\u2019m being patronizing here because I\u2019m not! I ignored keywords in my own business for a long time but I think it\u2019s really important if you want to build something that continues to work for you even when you\u2019re not there \u2013 targeted keywords can do that.<\/p>\n

Know Your Readers \u2013 Sometimes we get into the mindset that whatever we want to write about is what we want to blog about. But that\u2019s not always the case. Get to know your readers, understand their problems and find out their questions and then start giving them the answers.<\/p>\n

Be Approachable \u2013 People want to know you are a real person and not someone spewing out content to get them to buy. I do things like add video posts to my blog, put my email in a handy spot, and I even added a nifty little chat box on the right side.<\/p>\n

Be Human \u2013 We all make mistakes and nobody wants to read a bragging blog for any sustained period of time. Be human.<\/p>\n

If you make mistakes, admit them and tell people what you learned from it. I always say I love to learn the hard way, and boy when I mess up I like to make it big. Sometimes I don\u2019t even learn from those big mistakes so I have to do them a few more times. But I\u2019m pretty good at letting my readers know that I\u2019ve messed up and what I think I\u2019ve learned from it.<\/p>\n

I like Carrie Wilkerson\u2019s little quote about this: \u201cTurn a mess into a message\u201d<\/p>\n

Bring Value \u2013 You know value. I know value. Let\u2019s just bring it.<\/p>\n

Know Your Purpose \u2013 WHY are you blogging, really? Is it just for money? Is it to share a goal? Is it to share as much info as you can?<\/p>\n

Speak From The Heart \u2013 People know fakeness. They can smell it even over the internet. You won\u2019t do yourself any good to being fake. You and I both know that. But let\u2019s go even further and speak from the heart. Speak from your feelings. Write what you really feel.<\/p>\n

Most successful blogs focus on a exclusive niche which draws a unique set of visitors. By keeping the information posted in the blog related to this niche, the blogger helps to ensure the audience will remain interested in the blog. However, the subject matter is not the only important aspect related to understanding the target audience.<\/p>\n

Bloggers should also be well aware of the type of information the blog readers are seeking and the way in which they prefer to have the information provided. This is important because some blog readers may enjoy lengthy pieces while others may prefer posts which are brief and to the point. Still other blog visitors may prefer to have posts provided as bulleted points in an easy to read manner. Providing the information in a way in which the visitors can process the information easily is as important as providing quality information.<\/p>\n
